Silver medallist marks start of NWM

Monday 28 April 2014

An Olympic medallist swapped his boat for a paddle board to mark the start of National Watersports month in Poole.

Stuart Bithell took silver in a high performance dinghy in 2012. Today he tried out canoeing and paddle boarding before getting back to a more familiar sailing boat.

It’s all part of over 400 free events on offer around the country to encourage people of all ages to take to the water in May.

Stuart explains how he first got out on the water...

During the month, selected water sports clubs and centres across the UK will welcome people of all ages to take part in a programme of free events.
