Channel TV weather girl, Sophie, got afloat on the eve of the Barclays Jersey Boat Show and gave the weather the thumbs up.

She climbed on board one of the Royal Navy Vessels, HMS Ranger, to film the all important weekend forecast.

Barclays Jersey Boat Show Preview Podcast

The 2014 Barclays Jersey Boat Show will take place in and around the award-winning St Helier Marina over the Bank Holiday of Saturday 3 until Monday 5 May 2014.

The annual three day event, which is organised by Jersey Marinas on behalf of Ports of Jersey, regularly attracts in excess of 30,000 visitors over the weekend and is the largest free-entry event in the Channel Islands.

He reflected on the importance of the Show and the Ports to Jersey as an Island.

Nuclear submarine presence at Show

The Royal Navy always has a strong presence at the Barclays Jersey Boat Show. This year is no exception.

HMS Severn, HMS Ranger and Puncher, a Lynx helicopter and a number of offshore raiding craft are all at the Show. However some vessels just won't fit into St Helier Harbour - certainly not a nuclear submarine! That didn't stop some of its crew being at the Show to represent the service.

The crew of HMS Severn is celebrating after being awarded the prestigious Jersey Cup on the second day of the Barclays Jersey Boat Show.
