The British Marine Federation represents a wide range of businesses in the leisure, superyacht and small commercial marine industry.
The 1600+ membership base is diverse and represents the UK marine supply chain. Examples include major world players in superyacht sector, chandlers, leading suppliers of equipment for yachts and motorboats, boatbuilders, marine consultants, boat cleaning services, brokers, flag makers, Sail Training and operators of marinas both coastal and inland.

Figures out today suggest the recovery is well underway in the marine sector. Companies surveyed just before the London Boat Show said exports rose by 7.7 percent over the last financial year. Overall, sales are up by 1.7 percent. And export order books are looking healthy for 2014.
According to the British Marine Federation research, the leisure marine industry is worth almost £3billion to the UK economy each year (£2.905billion). The sector employs 31,000 people.
Fairline Boats of Corby says it’s making 25 per cent more luxury motor yachts than last year ... and it’s recruiting more staff. Chief Executive Kevin Gaskell says prospects are looking good.
